1.Where will your next home be?
Are you planning on relocating, downsizing, upsizing, or just moving to a new neighborhood?
Would you like to be withing walking distance of the downtown, out in the countryside, off the grid, or in a suburb with a reasonable commute to work?
Will your new home be a stepping stone property, a forever home, a flip within 2-3 years, an eventual rental property, or a multi-generational home?
2. Are you pre-qualified for your new mortgage loan?
Do you have a reputable loan agent to work with?
What type of loan do you need?
FHA, conventional, VA, or construction loan?
What is your ideal monthly payment for your new home mortgage? (Be sure to include property taxes, home owners insurance, and any HOA fees, if applicable.)
How much equity do you have in your current home?
Will you put cash or equity toward the down payment on your new mortgage?
How much equity will you keep in reserves for emergencies? (6-12 months of mortgage payments is recommended)
